My good friend is having a hard time dealing with graduating high school, and he seems to also have a hard time finding a reason to believe in god. I can send him links to Websites that would explain Christianity and the idea that God exists, but i figured by showing him other peoples point of view, he might find it more helpful. Yahoo Answerer's, Please Explain why, God should always be a part of your life, and i will send him this link later.
Thank you.Advice about God Please??
God's presence can be seen through nature, through the way circumstances happen, through a book with 66 smaller books that never once contradict each other, through over 500 prophecies all fulfilled at the said time, and through an instinct that God put into each one of us when he made us. God is all things good: without God, there would be nothing good, and we wouldn't even be able to live. God will protect us and guide us through tough times, and God will console us during our sadness. As Psalms 37: 4 says, if we trust in God, he will give us the desires of our heart, and Psalm 37:6 says that God will let others know that we are righteous without us telling them so. Over all, God gave his only Son to suffer literally the worst death that anyone will ever suffer (due to the fact that God forsook Jesus and sin overtook Him during His horrible death) just so that we have the choice to be saved rather than condemned. ';This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our live for our brothers.'; (1 John 3:16 NIV)
Trust me, I am going through a struggle with sadness and hopelessness right now, and the only times that I don't feel sad are the times when I am reassured that God is in control of my life and wants the best for me. So please, pray for your friend that God will work in his life for the benefit of him and those near him. Amen.Advice about God Please??
The existence of God is so obvious for me that the concept is hard to explain. Matter exists because He spoke it into being. Science has never been able to explain where matter came from.I feel His presence with my heart and mind. I see his handiwork all around. The complexity of all creation simply cannot be just random accident-impossible.We are a separate order of creation. separate from the animals-we have a soul-even the animals know this, you can see it in their eyes.We have these mortal bodies because that is what it takes to be here for now but we all know in our hearts that we are more than a worm feast waiting to happen.
well, to each his own, but personally, God has always been there for me. whenever i needed help or wanted something, i prayed. he always made it right. sometimes it wasnt what i asked for, but ended up to be so much better. his majesty is all around. somebody had to create everything. science says it all just appeared...when it's not too busy telling us that energy and matter cannot be created. a close relationship with God is so empowering. they world has nothing on you because you are on God's team and he is on yours. when the wrold laughs in your face, all you need is a lil chat with the Big Guy and it's all good. He has a place for you in Heaven. I've made it through so many tough times and He has helped me with so much over the years...i would be nothing without God. right now you are battleing with yourself. part of you knows he is real and longs to run to him while the sinful part of you says life is hard and tells you lies. that sinful part of you tries to hide God from you because once you find peace in God, that sinful voice dies. it will still be there sure, but it will have no more power. it doesnt want you to be with God but the fact that you are unsure proves He is there. You dont struggle with believing in Zeus and hercules, yet the true God captivates your mind, body and soul as you wrestle your sinful self. He is real and he loves you. He loves us all, even the murderers and thiefs, the false prophets and all who sin. He sent his Son that whoever belives in Him will have eternal life with Him in Heaven. Keep fighting. life is tough, but God will give you strength. i know that sinful voice is strong and it's hard to believe sometimes, but dont give up! Run to him as fast as you can and leave your sinful self behind! He is waiting for you with his hand outstretched. Join the croud and feel the love. Jesus is real and is coming soon! let us rejoice!
well, he's simply smarter than you, i hate to say.
of course someone is gonna find it hard to believe in something for which there is no evidence. do you believe in invisible pink unicorns? why not? when you answer that question, you have answered the question as to why he does not believe in a god.
leave him alone, and let him believe what he wants. don't push your crap on him.
It's really tough. I was actually born into a christian family. Never believed in God until late in my teens. It's very true what every one in here says that ';there is no scientific evidence that proves the existance of God.'; Personally, I think it's true. But there is a reason to this. Wouldn't it make sense that if there were ';such scientific evidence'; that God indeed existed, everyone in the phase of this earth would unquestionably become a believer? I mean..Say tomorrows headlines are ';And today, the missing link to the existence of God...has been found...we were all wrong...God does exist.'; Hypothetically speaking of course, everyone, I mean everyone would repent. But, then again... If the existence of God was indeed proven still a lot of people are going to be like ';okay...I need to see him physically.'; So its a never ending questioning about HIS existence. People say: ';I need to see to believe';..you show them, and in return they say: ';I see it but I don't beleive it.'; LOL. So I think that even though scientific proof existed, people would still question HIS existence! Go figure. Everyone is different though. And everyone has they're own opinions about what God is or what God isn't. Take me for example. I questioned the existence of God until a few years back when I took a biology class. Yup..you know whats comin'. They were teaching us about Darwin's theory of Evolution. To me...I was like ';NO WAY.'; Honestly, I found it extremely hard to beleive that we were derived from an ape-like creature thousands of years back. Plus, there is no SOLID scientific evidence for THAT. I mean, yes there have been some proofs here and there, but none of them are 100% sure. How I think about it is this way: there is no way we humans could have evolved from something that grew spontaneously. Like something out of the blue. And that that something, after billions of years evolved to this perfect human being based on natural selection and survival of the most fit. I mean, we are perfect. Everything about us, from our miniscule cells, to our organs, to every process that occurs in our bodies is perfect. Our world and it's processes is perfect as well. The Earth's orbit, photosynthesis, the universe...Everything around us is perfect. And all this perfectness out of the blue? I don't think so. So what I say, is that I rather have God in my heart and live happy as I am now, than die questioning about God's existence. But you know..you really can't force it on anyone. Your friend is just going to make his personal decision. Good luck!!
Do not force feed your religion on your friend. Everyone is entitled to believe what they what. To question whether or not god is real is smart. I believe most individuals believe in god because it's shoved down their throats since birth. We as a society and not taught about anyone else other than god. In my opinion, God and Jesus are fictional characters created to convince people to be good and do good things and hell is nothing more than a way to scare people into thinking there are horrible consequences to not being a good person. It also creates a security blanket for people when a situation is dire. There was a story last month about a couple in WI who's 11 year old daughter went into a diabetic coma and the parents refused medical treatment. They believed praying to their god would save her. She died. What ignorant parents. They are now changed with child neglect. What a great god you have.
What if he always tried to explain to you all the reasons why God might not exist?
What if he thought you were going to burn in hell for eternity because you didn't believe like him?
Maybe he doesn't want to believe in God... let him be.
Other than that, I believe in God, because I have met too many wonderful people and experienced too many wonderful opportunities that have changed my life for the better. It seems that those situations were thrown into my life (by a creator) to guide me in the right direction. In addition, I have found that everything in my life has happened for a reason......even the bad. That makes me believe in God
Most people don't believe in God because they feel that God doesn't believe in them. You have every right to want ur friend believe but you cannot make him. I read somewhere that Anyone that believes in God doesn't need proof, it is the non believers that demand it. Therefore, they will never know. I think this is sort of true.
personally, im not sure if i believe in god. dont force religion on your friend. everyone has their own beliefs. i have been to church exactally twice. that doesnt mean im going to hell!
btw: there is no scientific proof that god exists. if you find some, feel free to post it ;)
Why don't you just show him with your actions. You already are by being the good christian that you are. He will see the good in you, and possibly the good in God.
:)
For me it's hard to see how God is not a part of everything. How everything works together, how everything even exists is just proof that God is real. We live on this earth so we can be tested and tried and so we can prove ourselves worthy to live with God one day. Life goes on after death. Life is just the smallest portion of our journey, living in heaven with God is eternity. God created each one of us and loves us all unconditionally, he loved us enough to send his only begotten son Jesus Christ to atone for our sins. He is the reason we are here and he is the reason we will live on forever.
because God will never doubt you, he will always be with you, unless you turn his back on him.
Has he been to church? That's a great way for him to feel God's presence. I find it's difficult/impossible to convince atheists/agnostics about the reality of God, but there are so many that don't believe or don't know and something happens in their life and it completely changes everything for them. Faith is something everyone, even Christians, at times wrestle with, so it's normal, but you are on the right track with exposing your friend to other believers' words.
three years ago i was going through a very rough time, when my invited me to go to church i accepted and my life change for the better ever since. god answered my prayers.
dont force religion on people that is the worst thing you can do leave it alone he has to figure that one out himself.
